christmas...

Is it over yet? this holiday season has been a bit of a flop really, the boys have had a second bout of the chicken pox in a month so time for crafting and such has been very limited. I've hardly gotten anything done

I've been thinking more about setting up my Folksy/Etsy shop and decided today is the day to take the plunge and register a shop, even if i put nothing in it till the new year its a start isn't it? the trouble is deciding what i want to sell and whether to focus in more on things of just go with the wide eclectic range of things i like to make and see what happens

Christmas!

Where has this year gone? cannot believe this year is nearly over. Another year of crafting, babywearing and of course making cakes. I've been thinking a lot about my crafting recently and since i have been told by my friends to start selling what i make and having more faith in my abilities i have decided to go with it. so in the new year i shall be opening a folksy/etsy shop! and now i have written it on here i cant go back....

eeek! nervous doesn't cover it!

boob cake!

so craft time seems to be in short supply at the moment, one of the drawbacks of having a young family, but i did make a boob cake last week.

im breastfeeding my youngest son and attend a bfing support group most weeks. this week just gone was the graduation ceremony for the new peer supporters so of course cake was needed. given the nature of the ceremony a breast seemed appropriate, not sure the mayor (who ended up cutting the cake) would agree!

oh dear!

Oh dear I am a bit rubbish at updating this blog. apologies to my few followers who have by now probably forgotten they were even following me.

In recent news we are still babywearing frequently, mostly with Dexter but sometimes George will ask to go on mummy's back :D I'm also loving having a slingmeet nearby and the sling demonstrations my friend Amie and I have doing at our local children's cenre.

I'm still crafting away on various half started projects, most recently the elf that will be coming to visit the boys over Christmas. It's taking me longer than I thought to make him as I have serious lack of concentration issues. I'm currently starting lots of things and finishing very few of them. This problem extends to all areas of my life right now but I'm finding it most frustrating with regards to crafting for Christmas, Christmas shopping and the dreaded housework.

There has been some cake making going on, most recently in October when I made a Noah's ark cake for myself and the boys baptism, a cake for my friend and her girls who were also baptised the same day and then Dexter turned 1! So of course there needed to be cake for the little gathering of friends we had for him

I guess really a lot has changed since the last time I wrote, I now have a toddler and a preschooler! Dexter is walking now albeit like a cowboy. George is coming on in leaps and bounds, he has such a strong personality and it's lovely seeing him develop into a real person. His language is also coming along and he comes out with some cracking comments that I think I should start writing down before the childhood innocence is lost and I cant remember anymore.

I guess the biggest news for me personally is that I've been baptised, found a nice church to attend and really feel like my faith is growing everyday. If you'd have told me this time last year that I would be attending church, enjoying it and really knowing that God is in my life I would probably have rolled around the floor laughing! But here we are!

So now I think I've updated you with all recent developments and hopefully I wont be as lax at updating from now on. There shall be a post with pictures of recent babywearing, crafting and cake making exploits in the very near future!

June update

Sooo, time for another update on me. Yet again been distracted by the small ones in our household. D has cut his first 2 teeth this last week and hasnt been his usual happy self. G has been treating us to more of his challenging behaviour.
We're still baby/toddler wearing and still enjoying it. G now asks for a sling and decide whether he wants mummy or daddy and between front carry or back carry.

Some knitting, some cakes, some crocheting and some babywearing

So again i have left it far too long between blog possible but i have been a very busy little bee. I have knitted g's winter hat and made a start on d's (which is a big achievement for me since knitting does not come naturally to me)

I have also been crocheting, i have completed a few more rows on my ripple blanket for our bed and its now big enough to be used as a bed runner as it is. I've also been working on my other big crochet project which is my squares blanket.

In cake news i have now baked 4 cakes this year for our nieces and nephews and also 1 for my big boy who is now 2! Where on earth does the time go?!

Im writing this blog post on my phone so will come back and organise and edit pics when im on the pc...

So I now have the blogger app...

I have been rubbish at keeping up to date with many things recently. This poor neglected blog is a prime example. In a bid to try and change this i have now got the blogger app for my android phone and im hoping i will utilise it.

So a small update on us, dexter will be 6 months old in a few days and is starting weaning. He is more excited by the spoons and bowls currently though

On the babywearing front my stash appears to have exploded and both hubby and i are still carrying both boys. I have some lovely slings and im trying to make sure i use them all in turn otherwise i will feel guilty and have to sell a couple.

On the cake making front i have made 2 cakes this year, one in january for my nephew and one for my lovely husbands 30th birthday in february.

I have also been fairly busy on the crafting front. Been playing around with buttons and hot glue gun recently. Decorating picture frames hair bobbles and various other things. I've also been crocheting away on various projects including bunting for 2 of my friends lovely girls, my mammoth ripple blanket project for our bed, flowers and such for hair bands and brooches.

Ive also been doing some sewing, made a small toy mei tai for my friends little boys 2nd birthday. I also have another one cut and part sewn for my big boys 2nd birthday at the end of the month.

Phew that was a long update i hadnt realised quite how productive ive been the last few months!

very bad blogger...

I have seriously neglected this blog since little man arrived and the last post date has shamed me into writing something tonight. Its been nearly 3 months since I did the last post and family life is hectic. G has settled into life as a big brother and absolutely idolizes his little brother. D is growing up far too quickly and is a chilled out smiley little chap.

Part of the reason I've been so lax with updating is that my lovely big boy developed a fascination for pouring liquids and drowned my laptop with orange squash.

in my absence i have been busy crocheting and generally crafting, I've made 1 cake and a few loaves of bread and as usual a fair amount of babywearing including my first tandem slinging experience which was awesome.

And little dude is awake, gotta run I promise faithfully to do an update with pics soon....
